Just called, lady was so rude. I asked if they had vegan pastries in store because on the website it said they had vegan pastries. The women was very cold and gave no explanation. She just repeated herself and then decided to reply to my review yet again being passive aggressive. Then commented on my comprehension. Like girl maybe if you learned to communicate. She doesn't need to work a job that requires communication. She could've said "no, we don't typically carry them im store. You have to pre-order the vegan items." But, her lack of communication and her hostile tone really showed me what kind of service I will receive. There will always be people that you have to explain things to. Some people need things worded differently to understand. If they didn't understand it the first time then why keep repeating yourself? I'd give the worker a 0 star for comprehension🤷‍♀️

I ordered cupcakes, a red velvet bowl, and a birthday package through DoorDash for my mom’s birthday. Mom loved the treats, especially the red velvet, the birthday package was cute and as advertised, and someone took the time to write out the birthday message I put in DoorDash on the actual cupcake bag, which was thoughtful.

AVL Cake Lady is PHENOMENAL!! We ordered the dragon cupcakes for my daughter’s 6th birthday party and it was a huge hit!! Not only was the presentation perfect, the taste and quality of those cupcakes was amazing!! Everyone loved them! We also ordered a dozen of the chocolate cupcakes to have on the side, and they were of course delicious too! We will only use AVL Cake lady going forward for all our sweet cravings!!

We have used AVL cake lady on two separate occasions. The first was cupcakes for an Asheville music school celebration. They were gorgeous! So many wonderful flavors, and I wish I had taken more pictures of them. The second occasion was for my birthday, and you can see many of the photos here. Beautiful cake with a fun custom topper! She does great work, and the cakes were delicious as well as visually stunning. My only issue is that I’m not always sure when their opening hours are. I went by once and she was not there, but as a single person running the shop, I can understand that she also has other priorities!

The place has been on my to-do list for a while. I dropped in just before noon and was cheerfully greeted by the owner, Shana. The dessert case was right up front, so I could easily see what was on today's menu. I was in the mood for cupcakes and got a red velvet, cookies & cream, and double chocolate. While all were delicious, the double chocolate was outstanding! The icing wasn't overly sweet, and the cake was moist and dense. I'll definitely be returning soon!
